That the Lord brought you near
And created in us deep friendship
That He opened our eyes and minds
And our hearts to His word and truth,
That we are knitted in soul and spirit
By His every word in His fellowship
That our greatest joy and pleasure
Is found always in His attendance

That our joyfulness He completes
And our sorrows He gently attends
And when the day’s affairs are done
‘Tis His love, His passion, His words
That remain the deepest desires and
The greatest longings of our lives
This in indeed is an awesome gift!
