You Are Mine! Poem by Anita Atina

You Are Mine!

Rating: 5.0

Let me come to you, freely

Sharing what is most precious.

Let’s not put labels, on what we share

So excluding, the beauty waiting to unfold

Don’t brand me, as taken

I am not yours to keep, nor are you!

Let freedom be our gift to each other

United by a chord, that’s stronger than social bonds

Yes, our hearts and minds shall tango

Seeking a delicious balance

Fluidly moving, with joy and freedom

From being hostage to, you are mine!

Love without the chains that bind, good luck walking that very fine line, , Andrew 10

I love the soft alliteration and pure assonance of those first four lines, and the change of tone which comes after that, more than once. The seductiveness of ‘delicious balance’ followed by such a balanced line is terrific- and then that strong ending. Thank you

An incredible poem that is “deliciously balanced.” The ‘you” in this poem is the envy of all men.
