You Are My Skyfaring Bird Poem by Roland Thirdthe Pacheco

You Are My Skyfaring Bird

By: Roland Thirdthe Pacheco

Hastening, marked by magic's trace,
When through the window I first glimpsed your face,
A skyfaring bird the winds embrace,
My tongue retreats, too timid to speak with grace.

Lofty are the dreams of the one I adore,
Longing to reveal the hopes they hold in store,
In truth, a pure affection beats at the core,
A heart ensnared by a muse it yearns evermore.

Witness are the moon and stars that gleam,
Even the fishes drifting by the shore's gentle stream,
To this fervent longing that clings like a dream,
Etched on a heart forever alone, it would seem.

Though shown each passing second, again and again,
Enduring even the wilderness alone, in pain,
If fate decrees they shall not be bound nor remain,
No spark of hope will fall upon the waiting terrain.
