I have negative thoughts
Life hasn't been rosy
I've made bad decisions
But blame myself for them

I know you have heard
My ranting at times
I have passed on bitterness
That you've heard throughout

I spoke out loud
Without thinking how
My negativity affected
Your adolescent mind

Its yet another example
Of a parent's worst nightmare
From loathing of one's self
Will affect those around us

I try to make up
For all my short comings
However, my life's path
Just made you stronger

When I hear you say
'You are so negative'
I look at you bewildered
As my heart fills with pride
