You Are The One Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

You Are The One

Rating: 5.0

You're the shooting star
That I keep trying to grasp
I am the bent spoon that I use
To dish out ice cream we shared
You're the night that I was afraid
To go out in freezing winter's weather
The darkness, not the cold scared me
I wish I wouldn't tear up when you call me
A different name
But you are too young to understand why
You're my hope for a gentle future
I love thee with the core of my soul
And I live to see you grown
