You Cannot Be Friends To Everyone Poem by Francis Duggan

You Cannot Be Friends To Everyone

You cannot be friends to everyone so why bother to try
And why some dislike you though you they do not know i can only venture to guess why
It might have something to do with karma a karmic consciousness in all of us reside
And the awesome power of karma it can never be denied
You cannot be friends to everyone that fact with us remain
In every fifty people you get to know a non friend you will gain
You may be a good person quite generous and kind
But there's always one and maybe a few who some fault with you will find
There is a saying that relates to this it is one i do recall
That you can please most people most of the time though you never can please all
There is always some person who will say that person could never be my friend
And a friendship that does not begin will never have an end
You cannot be friends to everyone so happens to be true
And that applies to everyone to me as well as you.
