You Cried A Little And Fell Asleep ~ Malo Si Plakala I Zaspala - Poem by Jankovic Zoran

You cried a little and fell asleep(For Jela)

It was a moment of weakness.
You cried a little and fell asleep.

Your body is fragile and your spirit is stingy.
But you are not like that, my goddess of Lika*.
From the ashes you rush and shine.
Germanic mother's blood in you screaming.
As long as you walk and you exist.

It was just a moment of weakness.
You cried a little and fell asleep.

For my Jela,7.5.2012.

In memoriam 07/28/2013.

* Lika is an area in Croatia

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
Bio je to trenutak slabosti.
Malo si plakala i zaspala.
Tijelo ti je krhko i duh ti strada.
Ali ti nisi takva, moja boginjo lička.
Iz pepela se dižeš i sijaš.
Germanska krv u tebi vri,
sve dok koračaš ti i postojiš.
Bio je to samo trenutak slabosti.
Malo si plakala i zaspala.
Mojoj Jeli,7.5.2012.
