You Lied To Me Poem by Shelly 945

You Lied To Me

It's your fault that im crying
It's your fault you were always lying
to me

You said you'd always care
You said you'd always be there
You lied, to me

You said you loved me for who I am
But you never really gave a damn
You lied, to me

You took me for a ride in your new car
You said together we'd always go far
You lied, to me

You said with my heart you'd never play
But something went wrong you went a different way
You lied, to me

You were different from the guys I was with before
Now It feels like I dont even know you anymore
You lied, to me

That night I saw her in your bed
After you told me I was the only one in your head
You lied, to me

Why is everything falling apart
You said we'd be together from the start
you lied, to me

You said she came on to you
But deep down we both know that's not true
You lied, to me

Now all of a sudden we are done
When you told me I was the one
You lied, to me

What you did wasn't fair
You said you were sorry, but now I don't care
You lied, to me

You were on your knees begging me to stay
But for what you did I want you to pay
You lied, to me

I'm going to leave you now, and break my vow
I told you I would never leave, because I still loved you
But deep down you know that's not true
This time, I lied, to you!

This is part of life, as growing up slowly teaches everyone. Forgive him and move on. Failing to forgive and move on only injures your hurt more. Well-written 10/10...

Pretty good! That twist at the end really made the poem. Read mine - Death of Innocence - Adeline

Hey Shelly, nice poem. It could use a little more imagery though. Try showing not telling what you feel in the poem. Other than that it was good. I always have trouble writing anything more than a few stanzas so I commend you on the length of the poem especially. Emphatically yours, Calico Jack
