You May Be Young And Healthy Poem by Francis Duggan

You May Be Young And Healthy

You may be fit, young and healthy and in your physical prime
But the Reaper of lives on you may well call time
The Reaper of lives who wields the scythe of death
At anytime can rob you of life's living breath
You may be quite young with years on your side
But on how long you live Life's Reaper decide
You know not the moment or the time of day
That Life's Reaper from you will snatch life's breath away
You may be a vibrant young woman or man
With everything in life for you going to plan
But the funeral bell that tolls for the old
For the young and the healthy also has tolled
You may be young and healthy and in your physical prime
But the Reaper of lives on your life may call time.
