You May Sleep Now Poem by manaswini dash

You May Sleep Now

Rating: 4.8

You may sleep now
Already you have spent
many years of sleepless night
Busy in making your path clean
for climbing the throne
which was made serene and pure
by the pious deed of others
You have reigned for quite a long time
Look, the life of night is diminishing
The stars will also vanish after a while
Your cynical reign will also come to an end
If your long blemished time span is going to sink
Allow it to be so

You may sleep now
Your eyes always dreamed
of snatching other's happiness
your greedy heart always desired
to have everything it sees
If your that strong greediness is diminishing
Then let it be
Allow it to end without any hesitation

Years after years you have not slept
With a tarnished heart
you always suck the blood of others
To sign your name on other's achievements
With your befogged mind you be-fooled others
by throwing your sin at them
The time has changed now
making you powerless and decrepit
Nobody will going to excuse you
Before closing your sunken eyes
it is better to cover your decrepit body and sullen heart
with the linen of penance
May be then you will have a sound sleep.

For making path clean many years of sleepless nights are spent and such activity provokes thought. Rest is of course needed. Stars also vanish while day comes to take rest. A person after handwork of sleepless nights should have sound sleep. Brilliantly penned amazing poem is shared on basing upon perception of life....10
