The sorrow and burdens
one keeps inside
may never be known to others.

How easy it is to hide
ourselves from those close
and
around us.

How easy it is to fake
a smile, fake the laughter
that bubbles from within.

Never do we truly know
if somebody is hurting inside..

Lend a helping hand,
lend an open heart and
an available ear..
and reach out.

Reach out to those you love,
because on the inside
they may be damaged
and hurting..
but they may be hiding
it.

Love those who are hurt and need it,
and
love those deeply who seem happy..
because you never know if it's a lie.
