You're Not As Great As I Am Poem by Phyllis Strong

You're Not As Great As I Am

Rating: 5.0

You ran from an alligator
Feed fish to a whale
Patted a dolphin
Threw dust in jail.

You're not as great as I am.

You stood on a rock
Climbed up a tree
Swatted at a fly
Ran from a bee.

You're not as great as I am.

You stepped on an ant
Ate an apple seed
Broke teeth out of a comb
Pulled up a weed.

You're not as great as I am.

You ate frog legs
And a lobster tail
Killed a cockroach
Made a toy boat sail.

You're not as great as I am.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
First let me say, that everyone has greatness in them. I wrote this poem just playing around with my son when he was younger. This poem was inspired by Muhammad Ali's "I'll Show You How Great I Am".
