You Said Poem by racheal wiese

You Said

you sit there and look at me, with sadness on your face. ask for my forgiveness, for me to love you and show grace, I see the anger inside you, I sit and look but want to hide from you.

You said you'd be there when i needed you most,
I trusted and loved you, i cared for you most,

i look deep inside me to find what we once had, but i realize to myself that it wasn't always good but it was probably bad, those days we made mistakes over and over again, the way we were lovers instead of friends.

you said you'd be there when i needed you most, i trusted and loved you, i cared for you most, you said you'd be there when i felt all alone, you said just call me and i will pick up the phone.

I sit here on my own now, praying to god above, asking where you were when we were in love, i ask him why you left me and i had no one by my side. i ask why when i cried out, you were never there, why i loved you so much but felt you didn't care.

god reached down and got a hold of my heart filled the empty hole in me and gave me a brand new start, he opened the doors to show me, asked for me to take a look, i searched and wondered on what i saw i ask god why i don't need you anymore,

you said you'd be there when i needed you most, i trusted and loved you, i cared for you most, you said you'd be there when i felt all alone, you said just call me and i will pick up the phone.
