You Were Poem by Randy McClave

You Were

I thought that you were my best friend
Until the world's end,
Everyone said that you were my pal
With a great morale.
We both were attached by feelings
We helped each other with life's dealings,
And also by personal regard
For each other we always went the extra yard.
We were always on good terms
That truth our past affirms,
And we always gave each other assistance
Without thought or resistance.
But, you never told me about Jesus
And how that he sees us,
Or about you being born again and saved
And how a road to heaven for you was paved.
Now you will live with the Lord
Where your soul will be cherished and adored,
You will have forever love and peace
And worshiping the Lord will never ever cease.
I thought that you were my truest ally
Now because of you I will always suffer and cry,
Because, if you were really my friend as you did tell
Then I now wouldn't be suffering in hell.
