You Welcomed Me Poem by Randy McClave

You Welcomed Me

For I was hungry and you gave me food,
And not once were you hateful or rude,
You didn't criticize me or treated me as a pest
But, instead you treated me like a welcomed guest.

I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
And about that you didn't have to think,
You looked at me and then you saw my thirst
Love from you with the water was then dispersed.

You didn't know where I came from or who I was
But, because of the Lord you gave me love,
I was a refugee from what you heard and did see
I was a stranger, and you welcomed me.
