You Were There Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I may stand exposed in coming days
Had you been watchful in your way?
You should clearly asserted and preferred to say
What was right and how was I going to pay?

I tried to reason out with my own vision
There always remained doubts with confusion
I was little considerate and thoughtful
It went out of hand and I became doubtful

You were my heartfelt love destined to last long
Remained always faithful even when I went wrong
I found you to be eternal love with wholly flame
I was only to be responsible for all the blames

I found you everywhere wherever I tried to see
You were like stars seen behind the trees
Branches may shake and make some sound
You will always be there with little sound

I may try to understand the state of mind
Go to the depth of it, analyze and find
what can be most important for our existence?
The only truth or truthful insistence

Moon never tried to hide her face even if had a patches
You were perfect in all respect and was good match
I tried to cope up with you and nearly caught
It was useful lesson life had taught

I was unreasonable and did not try to understand
I should have stood by you and stood as friend
It was possible and did not require talent
I was blinded by mistrust and did not relent

We were doing fine on all counts
Bond was so perfect and did not amount
It had no chance to loose any end
We were to remain happy and it was clear trend

I failed to grasp her mood and faltered to show
I remained to self and maturity didnot grow
Clouds were getting darker and about to rain
All attempts to pacify her simply failed

I hope to listen to my heart one day
It may show me some way
Why it has failed to see the reason?
Why I hated her as person?

She was embodiment of love and affection
Her face bore innocence and carried the reflection
Why did I not just pierce through her eyes?
They carried the answer for all y why?

Was it not the welcome or acceptance?
Did she not show any importance?
She did all whatever she could do
I was only left to prove it as true

I must repose trust in her
She is all for me here
Where will I be taking her from now?
I know it from heart and how?
