You & Your Lies Poem by Heather Marie Allens

You & Your Lies

You said that you'd be here
you said that you'd come back
you told me that you missed me
but it was all an act.

Words you use so slyly
your little messengers of lies
spinning stories in my pretty head
I wish I was surprised

I can't stand that you're with her
she so terrible for you
Look what you have done.
Look who she's turned you into

You turned on all who loved you
when you deserved it not
all who tried to stay for you
you can't have possibly forgot?

All that I gave up for you?
Everything you cost me?
I gladly gave you my everything
but you were done with me

My wrists will tell again
should you not recall
that when I needed you most
you were not there at all.

This one-way street you left me on
floods my eyes with salty tears
But the only one who could make it stop
is the one who trapped me here.
