Young Yogi 7 Poem by Peter Long

Young Yogi 7

Young Yogi gets a girl

Bhagavad Gita 5: 12 'discarding benefit-motive, attains to ultimate peace'

Bhagavad Gita 5: 15 'takes cognizance neither of the sinful nor the meritorious actions of anyone '

Bhagavad Gita 5: 23...........'He is able to experience undisturbed 'here' itself"

Indefinite, Progressive - contemplative, Young Yogi crested the silent waves and emerged out of V gorge.

Allan Ginsburg had dispersed even prior to touching it's lips

Young Yogi went on the road,
Hitching rides north across the desert country towards Big Sur
One day an old beat up Hudson appeared out of the sunset's facing glare A fat Native American was driving the bomb, at the wheel in an eagle feather - capped hat

Nancy Lopez faces her body, I can exist again, she listens to her story spoken by the waves on this windy beach
Wind, Fire, Shadow, Glove
Her hands on the dark silent moon, it's so romantic, she sees into herself through the yellow foggy lights
Refocus my life............... lovely mists

But let's step back one step... earlier before this
(Shut up the tribal ghosts whisper in the winds, there is only the now - foolish mortals)

Around the cliffs on the other side of the Bay, Jacks dead body drifts swiftly under the golden gates bridge, unrecognized and unloved towards an Alcatraz Island penitentiary grave

Bhagavad Gita 5: 22 "Those contact borne pleasures, indeed are the womb of pain, having beginning and end"

We're Oholne Indians says Henry Lopez, driving hitchhiker Young Yogi along the highway north
.....San Francisco was our happy hunting grounds, until the white's came, murdered and enslaved us
Look at me, touch me, I'm not extinct

My daughter Nancy
She's got mixed up with this drunken bum pimp called Jack Kerouac
He's a liar, .....tells her he loves her....
My Nancy is being used by him.... bad
She has distanced herself from me....
She calls herself a liberated woman.... what a joke

You're a nice clean young man, brown like us
Help me get my Nancy back

Young Yogi thinks about Dharma
Looking into the sad wet eyes of that fat faced bald Indian
Such maternal - parental loving eyes, like my mother
Inside himself he sees a vision of the cycle of evolution,
cradle to grave

He sees an Indian Medicine man rushing baby Nancy towards the source of eternity

Touching himself, This Nancy is flying on the winds of a vivid dream

Bhagavad Gita 5: 28 "Vital Tendencies moving with the nasal orifice"

On this foreign beach tonight his old guru and the ashram in Pushkar are like a 20 oz silver bar, mined by Henry's enslaved ancestors, birthed by blood and sweat and death

Young Yogi walks with Nancy down from Sutro Heights across the rocks.................
Past Cliff House, it's a sign of the past and a now fading civilized life. Young Yogi is reminded of it's old time radio broadcasts made by Hollywood stars like Clark Gable… he used to listen to them on his portable radio replayed... over the Pushkar sands…

Reaching the dunes, stepping onto Ocean Beach (it's not unlike the diamond harbour in Bengal)

Lying on the sand with Nancy, snowy plovers calling to the fog

Young Yogi and Nancy make a love heart in the shape of two bare bums close up together...........a sculpture facing the oriental surf

Is this what it's like to conquer the fear of the yogi and help someone?

Nancy combs Young Yogis hair with her fingers and whispers
My little Holy Toad, thank you

Her father, Henry Lopez hiding in the cliffs above the couple
Smiles to himself
My daughter is safe with this young yogi
A short iron bar in his pants pocket is protruding into his fat thigh
It's a comforting feeling
He used it to murder nasty boyfriend Jack just an hour ago
I'll Walk across to the park soon and hide it well and good under the bushes.
But let's watch them make love for a bit long

A snail pushes its slimy self between Nancy and Young Yogis toes

Bhagavad Gita 5: 29 "Friend of All Beings""

The fog is beginning to lift in the absolute space over the beach
Cool bite of dawn sets in ……Kundalini rising

Guru, Nancy, Medicine man, Ashram, Drunken Jack, Rajasthani Gypsy with beedie cigarette hanging out of his lips

Openings or obstructions.. They are all the same

(Facing the pacific ocean picture a Young Yogi and a Little Mexican Indian Squaw cuddling on the beach at dawn........this camera picture of a Meditating Yogi is taken by an early morning observant Chinese Tourist from the guest house above, and later published in a Beijing fashion magazine)

Bhagavad Gita 5: 23
"Young Yogi is able here on earth to tolerate the body; fixed in Yoga he is not shocked or agitated. Without attachment, or a physical orgasm, he is happy"

Bhagavad Gita 5: 27
"Touching, contact, performance, eyes gazing, inhale, breath, moving, "
