If your Christianity causes kids to go hungry
And the sick to go without healthcare,
If you think that they our destroying our country
Then for you, I will say another prayer.
If the stranger you do unwelcome
And the elderly on Social Security you called a 'parasite, '
If you call the needy and the poor scum
Then you never heard or read the scriptures right.
If you applaud the billionaires as they get richer
And you have no problem with their desire and greed,
And you are jubilant when they fire a teacher
Because of books they taught and did read.
If against your own healthcare you had voted
Just because you didn't want the poor and needy to have it too,
And if that pathetic and awful uncaring belief you have promoted
I then don't think I really honestly care about you.
If only for yourself you have worried and prayed
But, you didn't care about your sick brother not feeling well,
Soon you heard that you might loose your Medicaid
So, only then you began to cry your very sad tale.
If you praise those who do hate
If you enjoy mocking and also judging and ridiculing others,
And if you see no sins ever on your plate
Then I honestly pray for your own sisters and brothers.
If you read and listen to the gospel everyday
And if you go to church to listen the pastors preachings,
Maybe, just maybe, you've profoundly misunderstood what the pastor did say
Because, you don't know the most basic elements of Jesus' teachings.
