Your Eyes Poem by Arun Maji

Your Eyes

Rating: 5.0

In blink of an eye, I loved you.

May be- not you, but your eyes.
They are so serene as silence
deep as sea and dark as sleeping night.
Yet they are so boisterous-
they talk a lot, sing a lot
and dance a lot with my heart-
beat by beat, song by song.

May be your eyes are just not eyes-
they are the centre of a black-hole
that pulls everything that passes around it.
May be your eyes are just not some organ-
they are the beauty, the grace, the magnificence
of this magnanimous universe.
May be your eyes are just not eyes
they are the lifeline, the panacea
of those who suffer and despair.
May be your eyes are just not your eyes-
they are eyes of my soul too.
If I wear them- I see what is invisible
I feel what is intangible, I hear what is inaudible.

Don't love me, if you don't want to.
But allow me to stare at you-
day and night, this life and after life.
Allow me to drown into depth of your eyes
and seek those gems and jewels within it.

I love your eyes
not because they are black and beautiful
but because they are your eyes.
And because those eyes are- yours, yours only
so I love you.

To tell you the truth- between you and your eyes
I don't know which one I love most.
But this is for sure- one leads to the other.
