Your Friend Poem by Holly Jamestone

Your Friend

When your life is feeling broken
And you want to scream out loud
Or tear your hair or punch the wall
Or climb under a cloud

Look into the mirror
And let the anger go
Watch it fade before your eyes
And in the end you’ll know

When madness takes up residence
Your heart turns dark and black
It’s not too late to shed the hate
And find your own way back

The evil that one’s lips may spew
Is honey in the end
When common sense and calm-filled thoughts
Are once again YOUR FRIEND

For Sally
