Your Hands - Poem by Alicia Sterling

As I se t on the edge of this dock while the water splashes up hitting my feet, I feel the cool air whip across my face and through my hair. I close my eyes just to feel that felling like I’m floating in mid air. I close my eyes to see if I could picture that day that you would always become mine, me and you as one. I close my eyes to see if I can feel you. Your rough hands touch my soft skin. The hands you hold may be rough from the war in Iraq but those same hands you touch me with make me feel whole.
