Your Pretty Lost Thing - Poem by Roger Harkness

I'm sitting here thinking
Underneath the grass
Waiting to hear your foot steps
Someday I'm going to sprout
Tower over this grass
You'll look to see the beauty
You never saw in me
I'll be there for you
You'll cut me down
Take me in
Once again
