Your Yesterday Poem by Prarthana Ranjit

Your Yesterday

It’s just another day of May,
Yet the sky looks different today;
And I lie here, watching the twinkling stars
As they tell the moon she is pretty even with all her scars.
It’s magical; I wish you could see what I see,
I wish you would just come lie here with me!

When she looked down at me, I could swear I saw the moon smile,
Like she was saying I know you have been thinking about him for a while.
She said she would take the message for you to see,
Let you know how much you are missed by me.

But you won’t get it ever,
for us there is no forever.
And there are so many things I want to say,
Oh How I wish I could treasure today!
But for you, today is not even today.
The moon I am talking to,
You said good night to her yesterday!
You have slept off today,
For you, today was yesterday!
