Just today, can we pretend we are in love?

The time when night greets the day,
A game in my head they play.
He drags me into his painful embrace
Insomnia, he wins - he wins me every night!

the city lights look so mesmerizing beyond this river,
here, water flows creating rythmic waves,
& with the wind, they sing me lullabies.
trying to sing me to sleep.
...

cute little secrets turned into dirty big lies.
lies that we know each other. lies that we have made some memories.
I don't know why it did,
or when it started? I swear I would have stopped it- or at least tried to.

It’s just another day of May,
Yet the sky looks different today;
And I lie here, watching the twinkling stars
As they tell the moon she is pretty even with all her scars.
