You're Going To Love Her Poem by Mark Heathcote

You're Going To Love Her

At some point sooner or later
You're going to love her.
Because she's put a big dent in your fender.
And you can't move on.
Unless it's to save her.
But in truth, it's she who is saving you.
From everything you've ever done wrong
And may do again; let's not pretend.
She isn't also your best and only friend.
Let's not pretend you don't hear music.
And a little prayer saying amen again.
Let's not pretend you don't want to sing.
And drink a dewdrop in the rain.
Let's not pretend you don't want to dance.
And perhaps even walk on air.
Let's not pretend you don't want to buy her a wedding ring.
And ask her to fetch some kindling to
Warm a new unfolding hemisphere.
Where you can camp out every night tempting
Kismet fate, you couldn't wait any longer.
At some point sooner or later
You're going to love her.
Because she's... she's your natural saviour.
Past behaviour and more
She'll sort out all your misbehaviour and more
So you can hear her call your name.
Just hear her call your name.
At some point sooner or later
You're going to love her.
So you can hear her call.
