Amongst the flowers I
am alone with my pot of wine
drinking by myself; then lifting
my cup I asked the moon
I take my wine jug out among the flowers
to drink alone, without friends.
I raise my cup to entice the moon.
OTHERS because you did not keep
That deep-sworn vow have been friends of mine;
Yet always when I look death in the face,
My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
Never trust a white man,
Never kill a Jew,
Never sign a contract,
Never rent a pew.
Well my friends are gone and my hair is grey
I ache in the places where I used to play
And I'm crazy for love but I'm not coming on
I'm just paying my rent every day
Go from me, summer friends, and tarry not:
I am no summer friend, but wintry cold,
A silly sheep benighted from the fold,
A sluggard with a thorn-choked garden plot.
'How seldom, friend! a good great man inherits
Honour or wealth with all his worth and pains!
It sounds like stories from the land of spirits
If any man obtain that which he merits
Real friends call
Real friends dare
To love and to care
At the mall
I have black friends
I have white friends
I have brown friends
I have bronze friends
Friends come in all shapes, hues, colors
Friends of similar interests, not similar,
Friends on the net
Friends in real life
I have this wonderful bouquet of friends…all as different as night and day…
Some of my friends pray to their God…while others…to a different God they pray.
Some of my friends don' t believe in God at all…Can you imagine that!
Make friends, not enemies
Make love, not war
Make peace, not rage
Friends can be our worst enemies
Friends are often our foes
Friends are better placed to plan our downfall
Friends can In fact be our downfall
When you lose a friend for whatever reason you are surely the poorer indeed
For friends in your life are important and every friend you do have you do need
So treat your friends with love and kindness since in your life they are hard to replace
For even with good friends to count on at times the challenges of life can be tough to face
Friends come into my life; my soul friends gladden
When from my soft centre, friends bring out the best
That's plenty in me to discard my sad burden.
The walls were my very best friends; as I boisterously conversed with them for hours immemorial; after the closest around me had turned a deaf ear to even the most brilliant of achievements; some shunting me due to lack of time; some shunting me brutally due to prejudice,
The walls were my very best friends; as I shared the most eccentric of my secrets with their invincible hardness; b'cause if I did the same with the society outside; it'd pounce and exploit me for my deficiencies to the fullest; and till the last breath

Poetry is to educate people, to lead them away from hate to love, from violence to mercy and pity. Writing poetry is to help this community better understand life and live it more passionately.
