The wingbeats of distant angels
Sound against the sky

To wander through the forests,
And dance beside the Faes,
To marvel at the mighty Phoenix,
As she is set ablaze.

Come dance with me among the jewelled hills
Alive with madness and bright faerie thrills
The great stone circles stand proud and tall
Pass through the veil and enter our hall.

The cold closes in around me
So I can’t breathe
I’m frightened by what I see
The statues seem to move
...

Echoes of opera in twisting design,
Tendrils of shadow, the falling divine,
Eyes reflecting the conflict of time,
Heart rejects vice of cascading sublime,
...

Scattered among ashes the withering rose,
Alone on the battlefield, a greying breeze blows,
The theatre of wonder rendered unknown,
And a keeper of keys to a secretive soul,
...

A faded amaranth on corrupted design,
Begging for memory of shady decline,
The poet and riddler rise from the east,
Twisting in cobweb a decadent priest,

Starlight sparkles on the sea,
Washing magic over me,
Mystery lies in the night,
Wishing for the ancient sight.
