Close both your eyes, breath deep, inhale
rain scents wafting in the air;
Let it drench your soul, assail
sleeping senses like a prayer...

Dawn crept behind the dawn and burst
into a thousand drops of light;
With child-like joy to be the first
to bid quick farewell to the night.

The flowers droop their weary heads,
Their lilt has lost all meaning;
Wilting, wind-swept in their beds,
I hear their silent keening...

The stars have cast a net tonight,
a light translucent veil of blue;
to hold those dreams that glitter bright
to make them shine for me and you.

Cinderella was very sweet,
Bluebirds worshipped at her feet;

Her smitten Prince loved her a lot,

Rapunzel stuck in her tower,
Sang one song for half an hour;

She didn't even know the words,

Oh! She loved apples, did SnowWhite,
And so she took a greedy bite;

Then fell into the longest sleep,

Beneath a tree, right down the lane,
from the days of my childhood;
An ancient Cross stood quietly plain,
Whitewashed, built of stone and wood.

Penelope played piano, each afternoon,
Sadly, her piano, was quite out of tune.
Scales rented the air, a banshee screech,
Arpeggios howled, like gulls on the beach.

Their roots reach deep to touch the earth
Their branches scatter memories
