I wonder-
I wonder where I’ll be in twenty years.
I wonder who my real friends are.
I wonder if I’ll make dance line next year.
...

Life, It's so complicated.
People, you never know what they really think or feel.
Dangers, they are all around us.
Love, a complicated part of life.
...

Magic, Is it real? what is it? Can you trust it? Can you see it?
Is magic a bunny being pulled from a hat?
Is magic a card trick, or is it a cion being pulled from behind a child's ear?
Can magic occur in a puff of smoke, or from a flick of a wand and a bibbity-bobbity-boo?
...

Take it back you say!
Take back all the peircing words you spake,
Take back all the things yuo did without delay,
Take back all the pain and ache.
...

the longing,
it seems to grow stronger the more i'm away from him.
i long for him,
To look into those deep brown eyes that seem timeless,
...

I hear a deafening noise, I look around to find the source,
I hear a cry of pain, escaping someone's lips,
I look around in the empty dark, to realize it's my breaking heart.
I can't breath, I can't speak, I can only sobb.
...

When he looks at me, I feel I can fly.
When he touches me, I'm sure he can hear my heart.
When he talks to m, There's no way i can get distraced.
He makes me laugh, he makes me smile, he makes me happy.

Love is like an ocean.
You float, you sink, you drown.

Love hurts,

Samantha Burnsed Biography

i was born november 19,1994. I lived in telfair county in south georgia until i was 6 years old and moved to Gainesville georgia on christmas day. i have lived here since then. Ever since i was little i have loved to sing. So i started to sing in front of people all the time. Then i started to develop hearing loss and had several surgeries to correct it. When i moved where i am now i began to love art as much as music. Now im always drawing things wich sometimes gets me in trouble at school cause im supposed to be paying attention but i can't help myself. I began to write when i was in second grade. My teacher chose three students in our calss to write a poem for a contest to be published in an anthology for young americans such as myself. She chose two of my best friends and myself. We were told to write about a holiday or a special event wich she helped us write. My poem was published a few monthes later in the anthology. That was the last time i wrote poetry until the seventh grade. We had to study poetry for the class and then write several poems that's when i became interested in writing poetry. I guess all of the things i love to do kind of go together-art, music, and poetry. Music is a type of poetry and art in it's own way is like silent poetry. You put wats in your head on paper wich can tell a story and show emotion as well as poetry. I think people who are more artistic and can read music and play music can reconize poetry better and it's easier to understand it. If i didn't hav art and music i dont think poetry would even be a part of my life at all.)

Wonders

I wonder-
I wonder where I’ll be in twenty years.
I wonder who my real friends are.
I wonder if I’ll make dance line next year.
I wonder if I’ll ever get things right.
We wonder about unimportant things like these.
We waste away the days and nights wondering.
We wonder about things that only concern us,
But do we take the time to think or even wonder-
About the little girl next door hearing her parents fight,
About the grieving old man down the street who’s planning a funeral,
About the teenage boy who ran away last night.
There are things like this and even greater things to wonder about-
Like the war in Iraq,
Like the countries where so many children are orphaned,
Or the cancer patients who are dying because of something they can’t fight,
Even the presidential election and how one vote can change our lives.
These are the things to think about and wonder about.
For these are the things that are important in this mystery called life.
