Sara Jo Andrews Poems

You have been here with me,
Through the rough times and the smooth times.
But now you are gone,
So far away, so distant.
...

Sitting here in this world I call mine,
I wonder as I always do, what this day is going to bring.
I ponder once again the questions life brings,
The questions I hold in hopes of answering.
...

Hopes dashed among the rocks,
Happiness spreads wings and takes flight,
The light leaves the eyes that once sparkled bright,
But now dull and impassive.
...

At long last this moment of suspension has ended.
You crossed that hurtle,
Broke free of the chain that bound you.
Yet you come back to me.
...

What is happiness?
Is it a smile?
Is it a laugh?
Is it peace of mind?
...

In this game of love,
I am th FOOL...

I had my own hopes and dreams,
...

This is one of those days,
Where you are feeling all alone

In the world, Like no one knows
...

Some day you’ll look back
On what has all happened
Then you’ll realize
What you have lost,
...

You gave me a gift, a gift none else can give, the gift of love.
You taught me patience, you taught me forgiveness.
In you own ways, you are trying to teach me to look at things in better light.
You’ve neen there all alone, but it was me that was afraid and pushed away.
...

I lie here in bed, as sleep eludes me.
That sweet peace is ever so elusive.
The darkness closes in and fast on its heels are memories,
Memories for which I long to forget.
...

These feelings, this lost faith
What direction do I take?
Which path should I follow?
Hope is only threadbare compared
...

Enter the darkness my friend,
Come and follow me,
I will show you pleasures beyond your imagination
Sights beyond your dreams
...

Outside my window, my looking glass to the world,
I see many things,
The cold death of winter,
The barren land, which the death brings,
...

No more, never again, will I be there again,
To hear the pain and hurt in your voice,
When you look at me, every time
I remind you of my father,
...

15.

I see you standing there,
That wounded look in your eyes,
Wondering what went wrong,
Why it wasn’t meant to be,
...

I see you standing there,
Ever watching, waiting,
For what I know not.
I see sorrow and loneliness in your pale eyes.
...

One might perish…
One might survive…
One may love…
One may hate...
...

I see you my dark friend.
I hear you my dark friend.
This night I know not what brings
You to leave your calling card upon my step.
...

Your dark ways,
Dark eyes painted black,
Your pale skin,
Your dark embrace,
...

I look out my window this star-filled night,
I see the moon bright as the sun,
My mind wanders through the past and forgets about the future,
My heart aches between two loves,

Daddy's Little Girl

You have been here with me,
Through the rough times and the smooth times.
But now you are gone,
So far away, so distant.
Daddy, I need you,
Help me before I slip away.
I’m falling, I need you.
I can’t see you no more.
Daddy, I’m lost, help me before I turn away from all good.
I call your name; I can no longer see you.
I cannot hear you anymore.
I start to cry.
I’m a little child again,
I have lost you daddy.
Don’t leave me alone in this dark world.
You have taught me everything, wrong from right,
And how to love those I hate.
Daddy it’s getting dark.
I begin to cry again.
I whisper gently through my tears, Daddy I love you.
