Lighting A Lamp Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

Lighting A Lamp

Rating: 5.0

Let me light this lamp
And count myself blessed
Let me have no vanity unwarranted
To imagine the light I kindle aright
Is the blessed of all lights hallowed
And would illuminate the entire world
Nor should it dishearten me
With thoughts of insufficiency or incompetence
Spirited pursuit of light makes the miracle happen:
My eyes open and get glimpses of the marvels around
A Voice thunders out from the skies exalted:
‘Beware of blindness, O Man, dispel darkness'
