A Feeling Mourned Poem by Frank Davis, Sr.

Never believed it was love
such a stately sentiment would not
have felt so fleeting, so fragile. Yet
despite its apparent rootlessness- need
for constant tending- I was affected; my slumbering
soul strangely stirred. Something surprising, sweet
and satisfying did occur. I now find myself
missing our comforting non-love;
regretting it had not
lasted longer.
