Two small adjacent Maine wooded hills,
With a valley between.
We got separated, as was our mood tense;

The grandeur of a Notre Dame cathedral…
Its man-made architectural brilliance
Designed for the dutifully pious.

Paddling downstream over running rapids,
I looked over…
And saw her standing on the riverbank.

Spring has sprung early;
Bringing warmth to the senses;
Sending souls outward.
...

Hazy summer's eve
A milk-glass moon shines muted
But still full of heart
...

Fear of loneliness
Deep forest meditation
Grounded in knowing
...

I think that I woke,
And wrote what I was dreaming…
Poet's verse streaming;
Or, dreamt that I was writing…
...

There is beauty in a breath of good air;
In a snowfall; in sun, dense fog or rain;
In a flower's shape, whether perfect or not.
Beauty in what we know as the present…
