Dawson Walter Smith

Dawson Walter Smith Poems

It's a busy city,
Most people never pay no mind.
Don't expect to find any pity,
You don't know what you might find.
...

To walk the petal of a rose,
on a coffin under a tombstone.
Would mean to have walked the halls of the otherside,
yet still here above ground.
...

Where did the time go?
It's already now and it feels like yesterday was then.
But it all went so slow,
truth is though I probably couldn't tell you when.
...

Love hath taken me,
Much farther then I had ever thought.
Way past that of fantasy,
To that which could be wrought.
...

Winter will come and go,
Seasons don't last forever.
Whats left ever will eventually show,
What has survived the endeavor.
...

We hath chose our course, not no additional. So this path we shall take, staying direct not subliminal.

Eternity is who we have come for, not temporary. Don't make a mistake, this isn't a contest to out speed the drake.
...

Alas this many days it has been,
I have waited for someone to see clearly.
But it has been much a time since then,
My patience slowly grows more weary.
...

So far have we yet come,
That in my lifetime.
The winds here in history,
May not even chime.
...

Plaguing thoughts have found my mind,
Tormenting me away from the dream.
Breed within the loophole you would find,
Within the terrible pain of each scream.
...

Falling into this hole,
When I can’t feel the pain.
The mark left on your soul,
Once life has been slain.
...

Rhtythm can't find its arrival,
Into a less forgiving realm.
Never worried about survival,
When it would only overhwlem.
...

Meaningful moments dwell beneath the sea,
To the blind and mortal realm.
Hidden from the destiny of what life shall be,
To a pain with the will to overwhelm.
...

Air flows through our time,
Gentle as a breeze.
Strong as a storm,
Chilling enough to freeze.
...

New York City

It's a busy city,
Most people never pay no mind.
Don't expect to find any pity,
You don't know what you might find.
Most people wont care what you say,
They've probably heard it before.
They don't whether you go or stay,
They're probly just looking for a store.
Most people are usually in a hurry,
They wont notice you if you try.
The roads don't usually get blurry,
Its like they don't want to hear why.
But the lights are amazing,
Dirt isn't very common.
Doesn't matter where your going,
Anything could happen.

Dawson-(Walter?) i am standing here, and that's pretty much it. i am impressed.your poems have so much depth that they are not fathomable (infathomable?) . not fitting in is NEVER a bad thing, unless you're too big to fit into a mouse hole that has a billion gazillion dollers in it... sorry, that was kind of random, and it made no sense. but that's ok. because i like it. that's something else i like about your poems. they dont always make sense, but you just write them for the benifit of you, and releasing them to bleed, wether broken or healed, onto the page. keep it up, and remember, almost EVERY mouse hole is TOO small to fit into. hey, you're a good kid. just so you know. Luv, Marissa

I've been reading through your poems and I enjoy them very much. You have so much intensity and it really comes through Dawson. Your bio is sad to me....I think many of us didn't 'fit in' when we were your age but you'll find the older you get, the less you really want to fit in. I think it's wonderful that you write. I look forward to reading more of your work as I've enjoyed what I've read so far. Sincerely, Mary
