Down in the water
by the edge of the river
where time stands still,
.....if only forever.
...
When I was so much younger then,
when I was just a child,
I remember the words my mother said
on the night my mother died,
...
Halfway between
hell and heaven,
out of sight
from God and the devil,
...
As alone, as he will ever be
in his blanket fast asleep,
a baby dreams of the only face
that he will never see.
...
In the condensation on my mirror,
I scribbled these words in haste,
for soon they'l disappear
...
No one else! have I ever loved
as much as I loved you
No one else!
...
CAN YOU HEAR HIM! - from your frigid crypt,
your bed of hallowed ground!
Can you hear him! - when you rise tonight,
...
Where have all my teachers gone
a long, long time ago?
...
Your death of life
has come today!
Heaven's relief
for your hell of pain!
...
She would have been 35 today,
the mother of my child!
Who will you be coming next for God?
Whose life will you decide?
...
He wont love you when your pretty
He doesn't care whats in your head,
He'l never love you when your young,
but he'l love when your dead.
...
I've written every word
I'l ever write,
all the verse
that will ever rhyme,
...
Deep Of The Water
Down in the water
by the edge of the river
where time stands still,
.....if only forever.
Down in the water
by the edge of the river
where I buried all
that was ever childhood
Where I let it go,
where it bends and meanders,
twisting along as the years went past.
Seemingly calm, but beneath the surface
its hidden whirlpools, a sweeping current!
Down in the water,
I left the edge of the river,
as I looked down
for my soul at the bottom.
Deep in the water!
swept away by the river! ,
I drowned in life,
......sinking forever.
