dead before I died

All That Any Poet Can Ask For - Poem by dead before I died

I've written every word
I'l ever write,
all the verse
that will ever rhyme,

all the poems
that I'l ever throw away,
with the years
I've wasted my life.

and I'l close my books forever,
and I 'l pray to God as well,

that of all the poems in heaven,

just one falls to me in hell.

Perhaps you wouldn't believe if I say that there is a place between heaven and hell (Report) Reply
