Nikhat Bano Poems

Standing alone at one end of the street
Is nerve wrecking;
Staring from nowhere to nothingness
Chills my spine.
...

The rays have brought your message
Piercing through my closed window
I can read a golden hued line
'I'll be yours, all my life'
...

Glowing as a lamp I saw a lone onlooker,
adorned with the flares of sun - one Gloria;
Unleashing a blaze of beauty around her,
lighted my heart's patio with her wine aura.
...

A lily truth herself, a soul so pure,
who gets amused just by the sight,
of humble lilies of her courtyard;
Swaying during day, smelling during night.
...

You listen to all my whisperings,
you know what lies in my heart;
Your gazes follow my breaths,
only you can foretell my untold parts.
...

Wish to see a land of oriental pearls
Where nights melt into honeyed morns
And nymphs swim in molten gold with souls bare
Calling lone sailors for a hymenial sailing there
...

Encircling your entity
a halo has been seen,
standing alone, but not lonely,
under the cold nimbus clouds;
...

In the days of yore,
what else one could ask for;
During those moments of ours
you were just mine and I was yours.
...

An amorous blush is seen all over,
a tickling pink is spreading laughter;
A sensation of unknown pleasure,
has spread aesthetic appeal all over.
...

Once more a year has passed,
had many things in its garb,
much the same as the past.
A mix of all fair and dark.
...

I think I resemble these people
A diminutive in comparison
By defying all laws of creation
Have got everything they have
...

In the dust he was lying, unarmed, unescorted,
upon his head my gun was pointed;
I was eager to register my name among patriots,
his body throbbed seeing me in a fight mode.
...

I've treasured a span of life,
for me, which is so dear,
once when I had nothing,
then I was an emperor;
...

I'm eager to know about the life and likings of this abode,
all about their mundane affairs and fancy full scope.

Even the wind seems sedated when it passes through this place,
...

Buried beneath tonnes of rubble
we were sealed in a sepulchre,
with two more souls lying parallel
once we all three were influential.
...

Illuminated is the whole arena, phenomenal is the glamour;
Who's coming tonight? For whom is this fervour?

Stars are studded all along, all are waiting in this barren;
...

Let us light up those erased lamps,
which humanity is crying to revamp;
Let us love, shimmer and blink together,
in every clinched fists and brutal grasp.
...

It was an usual place of worship but quaintly strong,
in a quintessential town of my ancestral home;
A mosque not awfully grand but a modest one,
the same maker was revered in both the sanctum.
...

On the sizzling sand of youth,
you played barefoot;
Unarmed and unmindful of the,
feary blows of time.
...

I just saw a word 'Humanity'
written somewhere here,
O Yes! On a page of our mortal book;
Somewhere right here!

Waiting To See A Daybreak

Standing alone at one end of the street
Is nerve wrecking;
Staring from nowhere to nothingness
Chills my spine.
It seems the sky and the earth has slept
Together with the lanes;
Those far fetched dreams have evaded me
Even slept are my destinations.
Time surrenders, day surrenders,
Night surrenders;
I stare nonchalantly at the burning lights
Of the city streets wanderers.
When the nemesis decides to intervene
Cosmos surrenders;
And when the fortune plays its flute
The last is the front runner.

I'll keep wandering on the streets
With my head held high;
To see every dark cloud with a silver lining
And a rising sun after this night.

Nikhat Bano Quotes

Government and the people cannot be sane at the same time and this is how governance came into existence.

Perseverance pays but only with sound judgement.

Good, old memories are like flightless birds perching on heart's wall - poised to fly but never flies.

How can a divine love be calculated on earthly tokens!

Remember the bare necessary things of your childhood and you will feel like a king.

Basic needs and banal things are all needed to live a fuller and contented life, others create only contention.

Some choices often put us in turbulence, either we're dead while living or restless while dead.

Fantasy is a gold foil on crude reality.

In an adverse situation the flames of hope may seem dismal but its light never fades away, because it is fueled by your blood.

Treasuring blissful reminiscences and agonizing ones, both serve you in a positive way but without giving overly importance to them.

Untamed desires do carry with them whips that hits your skin as soon as they are fulfilled.

Humanity is an inborn trait; Inhumanity is acquired.

There is always a chance of loss in vainglory but never in humility.

True love is hard to find, harder to save and hardest to keep painless.
