Standing alone at one end of the street
Is nerve wrecking;
Staring from nowhere to nothingness
Chills my spine.
It seems the sky and the earth has slept
Together with the lanes;
Those far fetched dreams have evaded me
Even slept are my destinations.
Time surrenders, day surrenders,
Night surrenders;
I stare nonchalantly at the burning lights
Of the city streets wanderers.
When the nemesis decides to intervene
Cosmos surrenders;
And when the fortune plays its flute
The last is the front runner.
I'll keep wandering on the streets
With my head held high;
To see every dark cloud with a silver lining
And a rising sun after this night.

You have stunningly captured both the mood of hopelessness and hope. Excellent write! Congratulations on Poem Of The Day, Dr. Bano!
You have caught me right. While writing I was unwilling to remove the element of hope from desperation surrounding me. Thanks for reading!
