    What is meant by marbles? The marbles (those glass spheres we play with as children) - or the marble (the rock) ?
    I have come across a German translation where it is interpreted as the rock. I have seen both versions in English. Does anyone know? I do not know the Greek version, and I don't speak Greek.

    I have was just introduced to this poet yesterday. He is no doubt on par with Eliot, Pound, Stevens, and Hart Crane.

Cupids and satyrs were singing and playing
and rosy limbs could be glimpsed amid black laurel
the flesh of young children.
We were happy all that morning;
the abyss was a closed well

Lost Worlds

How can you gather together
the thousand fragments
of each person?
What's wrong with the rudder?
The boat inscribes circles

The world sinks:
hang on, it'll leave you
alone in the sun.
