to listen
...

she feels the laughter pass her by
tears burn as she starts to cry
she tries to stand tall
only to know she'll fall
...

Running away from what's not visable.
The deep sounds whimpering in your ears,
Screeching a tale of something unreal.
You knew it was realistic when they told you your name,
...

as time goes on a heart is lost
two friends lost in a tragic end
something to say isn't just a word
a life, a spirit held inside
...

Smile baby its over soon
The sun will come and erase the moon
Your stars are bright when you let them shine
If only you could see you're not of this kind
...

This is what we've become
So submitted to being numb
Stop pretending to be beautiful when you're so ugly inside
This isin't your game to play when you lied
...

When the waves crash over the planes
And the mountains engross dust at their peaks
The children of the field lay their rains
Upon callous lilies and rosy cheeks.
...

Wonder step leads far
Knowing not to wish on a star
Falling fast like a race
Swimming in deep water cuts your face
...

I found a million reasons to start looking for myself inside,
And only one reason not to and that's what I might find.
Could I walk down through the stars and we'd collide?
I stood on a star and fell off but I found loneliness unkind.

In a life I'll tell you but once
A dream I had, a cut so deep I couldn't embellish
The hardest cut, the hardest dream to wake up from
I slept on the porch of an abandoned house with you
...

Standing on a raw passionless grave,
Listening to winds that tell stories of the brave.
Kindiling the fire that went out long ago.
Breathing out winter and covering the world in snow.

A raw passion sent down and taken away
Seeing you is torture everyday
Something we shared, something I thought pure
Now love is a disease and there's no cure.

Songs written to reminence of the times you stood on the edge.
A dance injected into your body that makes you flow like the water top,
Beautiful is inspired by love, a feeling that captivates you,
And demolishes the hurt that scraped onto your life.
...

I sit and stare,
Watching as I hold my love silent.
I listen to the birds,
They're music starts to sound faint,
...

It seems like we’re wrong
To say that we’re strong
Standing on a rain painted ground
Every splash from a tear hits our cheeks without a sound
...

The man walked past her in a hurry;
No one around her knew her fate.
Or her past.
How she screamed to be another.

This overbearing ache scratches at him,
Ripping and tearing at his lost soul.
He gazes as the world tears off his limb.
Saving me from myself is his lone goal.
...

So put out the fire that burns inside
The tropical sunrise is burdened to light up the darkening world,
The night pushes around through the rays of light.
...

Fifteen years in the making and this is what I've become
People leading me to places where the deaf sit with the blind
Opening doors for me that lead somewhere unkind.

Lois doyle Biography

hey, my name is Paige, but I love my middle name lois so call me that please. im not sure when i started writing, but i can tell you i'll never stop. writing is a passion i share with so many people, and its a great way to release stress anger passion basically any emotion. if you read my poems you'll notice i use a LOT of symbolism. usually my poems are about politcs war nature or my past. which you'll notice in any of my poems there is a part of me in it. i have nothing to hide when i write, so yes i have had a tragic past and it leads to sorrowful poetry. and yes im only 18 but that doesn't mean im not as experienced as some of you older folks. so critise my work, please, i don't take any offence to it, just.helps me become a greater writer. thanks :))

Daddy, Why Can'T You Keep Me Dry?

a daughter sits to read to her father
an empty seat staring back at her
she starts with a word and realizes its no use
she sits outside on the curb in the rain
looks to the sky and screams 'daddy why can't you keep me dry? '
she's tired of being left alone
in an abusers home
her laugh is created from the movies she sees
while she sits in the basement and turns up the volume so she can't her the screams
her smile is painted on by a great magicain
this child is all alone and falling in love with scars on her arms
she prays only to feel disconnected with the world
she grows better at making her screams silent
just so she won't get beaten down
even though she already went through the ground
with bruises on her body and scars on her heart
she lays on the bathroom floor
and drenched in her own blood she whispers,
'daddy why can't you keep me dry? '
