This poem was inspired by my cousin Jen. She is one of the smartest people I know and she has made some great accomplishments and I am proud of her.

To look at a person with such pride.
It is what many yearn for in life.
To feel pride in oneself to this extent,
Is to know you've accomplished a great task.
To hold your head up to know and not just think.
It is a victorious feeling you hope comes again.
To keep the faith and never give up,
Is the only way to be that person you want so much.
To be looked at by so many with pride.

Love ~ 07/21/1995

This was the first poem I ever wrote. I was only thirteen and this was a new way to express myself.

Love is like the ocean, it’s pure like the salts and minerals within.
When a heart is broken all is calm in the depths of it.
Love is like the sky, You can see it go on and on.
But, like the sky, love can seem dark and gloomy at times.
Unlike the oceans and the skies you can’t see love, but you can feel it.
You feel it within your heart, where at the depths are love, joy and happiness.
