(1) Isolated Souls Poem by Uriah Hamilton

(1) Isolated Souls

Let us passionately saunter the sunlit avenues
strewn with cheerful flowers free of burdensome concerns.

No longer will unhappiness or unkind suspicions
nestle their way into our hearts.

I will forgive and forget anytime I felt aggrieved,
I will be someone I believe in and seek the same in another.

Ancient days so long ago, I associated with those who hurt me,
I sought their company for just such purposes.

But I know now, we can't exist without hope,
and hope cannot exist in isolated souls.
