103. There Was A Time When I Used To Try Poem by Jaden Knight

There was a time when I used to try
to get anything my girlfriend wanted
I always used to ask her every week
and she would always tell me

Many shops I often went into
before I found what she wanted
then when she received her present
I never saw it again

I used to think that I was wasting my time
because she never seemed to appreciate
what I had bought for her
she always wanted more and often I could not afford

In some ways that was the cause of our split
that I could not keep on buying things for her
she started cheating on me
and in the end we separated

I was happy when we split
because in the end it saved me money and time
I had more time to myself
and more money for the things I needed

Many people think that I never had a girl friend
that I have never been in love
but in truth they are wrong
I have had my fair share

I will not bother searching for a new one
as I do not have time
good things come to those who wait
and I’m quite happy to be patient
