Peace is just a word today
it don't mean a thing
it's too long since we had any
all the world is too busy fighting each other to remember

Love is just a song
something for people to sing about
that person they sing of never exists
but it's good for them to imagine

Freedom's just a dream
one that's fading fast
governments claiming we are still free
while taking our rights away
wanting us to become puppets
bowing to their whim

Reality is just an illusion
so are wealth beauty and power
so in some ways is life and death
coz some people never live any way

All the lies that people live by
all the truths they hide from
everything they've created
because they feel they need them to exist
