12 Dollars And 50 Cents Poem by Randy McClave

12 Dollars And 50 Cents

In the court room I sit and I listen
As I watch the judge and attorneys smile and glisten,
Wearing their expensive suits and their silk ties
I then monetarily realize.
In the courtroom they are there every day
Hundreds of dollars is their daily pay,
While I am just a sitting juror and a peer
Sometimes I am treated or seen as a seer.
With the judge and the attorneys I am there as well
Sometimes my days seem like hell,
For my time and my duty I am given an expense;
We the jurors are paid only 12 dollars and 50 cents.
