1984 Dodge Pickup - Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

There is a strong sentimental attachment
to an old dark blue pickup with pin stripping
Hadn't driven it in years…its tires were loosing air
Intentions of getting it road worthy were slipping

A neighbor spied it … asking if it was for sale
Saying he needed something like it for hauling
With a sigh… I relinquished my keepsake affection
With a boost… it sputtered… then purred without stalling

Too late to reconsider and backing out of the deal...
Giving a gentle pat to the shinny chrome bumper
I lovingly said, 'Take care of the ol' girl...
she'll be good to you if you maintain and pamper'

It's a sad day to watch her go. I can sympathize with you Theresa cause I have a 1996 Dodge Ram That I won with three dollars at a band boosters raffle. Her name is miracle and I got her in 1995 just a couple of days short of our wedding anniversary. Though she now shows her wear and tear, I wouldn't sell her, it would break my heart. (Report) Reply
