#204 An Invisible Hand Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#204 An Invisible Hand

It’s almost too hard to believe,
Too difficult to conceive
Someone as brilliant as you.
Is this a dream, an illusion, a trance
Or is fate allowing me the chance
To dream my dreams true?

Can there be a perfect match,
An exact fit where hearts attach
And connect forever?
If there is, I believe I’ve found
A soul which forms a magic compound
And has bound our hearts together.

It’s as if an invisible hand
Has positioned me where I stand
So we would meet at last.
Doubt insists it’s all nonsense,
A fluke, a mere coincidence
But all these qualms have passed.

Maybe I’ve spoke strong words too soon,
But I won’t unspeak them for the moon;
My heart will not allow it.
I’d be a fool not to speak my mind
While I am neither dumb nor blind
And so I, with faith, avow it.
