#206 As Long As I’m With Amalie Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#206 As Long As I’m With Amalie

Come hard times, come days of war
Come violence in the street,
Fall tears from eyes red and sore
On the brink of defeat.
I’ll endure all brutality,
As long as I’m with Amalie!

Come strong winds, come ruthless breeze,
Come death and demise.
Appear mighty storms with icy freeze,
Though fruitless are your tries,
For nothing on earth can harm me
As long as I’m with Amalie!

Far below the ocean tide
Or upon a mountain peak
Were the earth and sky collide
Or beside a babbling creek,
It doesn’t matter where I may be
As long as I’m with Amalie!

Come bright flowers, come sunny rays,
Come peace and blissful years.
Arrive dear love which always stays
With joy, laughter and leers.
Come what may, I’ll live happily
As long as I’m with Amalie!
