327. They Called Him Cinderella Poem by Jaden Knight

327. They Called Him Cinderella

They called him Cinderella
as he was always late for the ball
one of the worst goalkeepers I'd ever seen
and yet he kept trying

They didn't want him in their team
said he had no place on the pitch in their eyes
a prince of embarrassment and humiliation
who would never get the girl
yet he did not give up hope

Then one day he left his goal
and went on a mazy run
leaving defenders in his wake
showing off such beautiful skills
before beating their keeper with a fine shot

They now call him Cinderella
as he dazzles his opponents
with fancy footwork and fantastic shots
he has found his place on the pitch
the star of midfield
a prince of wonder in his own right
with a beautiful princess on the touchline
waiting for him at the full time whistle

could this be a true story? though not familiar with all the football/(soccer) terms used, i found this very entertaining and very [as usual] well-told. nice one, Profanisaurus! ! bri :)
